Policy, Law, Ethics, and Regulations (NUR 460)

The focus of this course is to provide opportunities for the student to assess ethical and legal issues important to nurses and other health care team members. The student will identify and analyze the aspects of legal and ethical concepts impacting nursing practice. The nurse will investigate concepts, theories, and values applied in the ethical decision-making process related to a variety of ethical dilemmas in nursing. Emphasis will be placed on analysis of legal and ethical cases as well as evidence-based interventions that correspond with dilemmas in nursing practice.  Pre-req: Admission to RN-BSN Program or permission of the Dean.
