Course Memo
This course introduces the student to the practical portion of the sonography program. The student will spend twelve hours per week (over two days) of observation and direct hands-on experience in the ultrasound lab setting and with the computerized simulation unit practicing the concepts covered in the first semester courses. |Prerequisite: Acceptance into the DMS Program or by permission of the Dean. |Corequisite: DMS 311, DMS 320 |Pre/Corequisite: DMS 301|
- Demonstrate the proper use of the sonography equipment.
- Apply knowledge of sonography of the abdomen by completing the laboratory competency checks with 80% or greater accuracy.
- Recognize the characteristics of normal anatomy of the abdomen on sonographic imaging.
