Course Memo

This course includes a study of terminology, symptoms, and diagnosis of diseases and conditions of the body. Emphasis is placed on those diseases and conditions, which are diagnosed through medical imaging procedures. |Prerequisite: RAD 140, BIO 112/112L |

  1. Define basic terms related to pathology including manifestations of pathological conditions and relevance to medical imaging.
  2. Predict imaging procedures used in diagnosing disease and the radiographic appearance.
  3. Differentiate the various systemic classifications of disease in terms of etiology, types, common sites, complications, and prognosis.
  4. Predict imaging procedures and interventional techniques appropriate for diseases common to each body system; including disease caused by or contributed to or by genetic factors.
